Position available: Full-time Instructional Assistant [UPDATE: THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.] St. Mary’s School, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is accepting applications for an enthusiastic, full-time instructional assistant for our preK/kindergarten classes for 2017-2018. Applicants must be organized and deeply committed to the education of our children. The main responsibilities of the assistant is to support the classroom teacher both with teaching-related activities and non-teaching assignments. In all instances these activities and assignments will have been planned by the teacher, who is responsible for their management and for initial instruction. Must be willing to work together as part of an instructional team. Prior experience is preferred.

Position available: Part-time Extended Child Care Employee (less than 16 hours per week) [UPDATE: THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED.]
Daily expectations include leading children in daily activities, supervising snack and outdoor play, assisting children with day to day needs, maintaining a clean and friendly environment, and helping students with homework. Creativity and sense of humor is a big plus.
Experience implementing educational programming and working with students as a teacher, educational aide, after school care aide, nanny, or daycare assistant; experience supervising children in a group setting; have a great enjoyment of and rapport with children; communicate clearly with parents; high sense of professionalism; ability to be firm, respectful but loving in your discipline; Christian by faith and example, preferred.
At least 18 years of age; overall good physical and mental condition (regularly required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk to playground, speak, and hear); willing to complete CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment; pass a TBI fingerprint and background screening; attend a Virtus (child safety) training session and complete monthly bulletins; must be able to follow instructions and protocols in accordance with state law and St. Mary’s School guidelines
