Pastor’s Update

Dear Parishioners,

Thank you for your patience and your support during this exceptionally challenging time. We need to make the best of the situation, even while acknowledging how difficult it is. It’s hard to stay calm when there are so many uncertainties.

Please remember that you can reach a priest’s cell phone by following the prompts on the office answering system. We’re still here.

Tomorrow is the Solemnity of the Annunciation, which means the Nativity of Christ is nine months of “liturgical pregnancy” away. Nine months till Christmas! Tomorrow’s Mass will be live-streamed on our parish Facebook page. Many thanks to Dave Duhamel for making these live-streams possible every day at 8 am.

We hope to offer a way for you to obtain blessed palms before Easter, and I’ll post an update here as soon as plans are finalized.

We’re also hoping to live-stream the sacred rites for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil, and I’ll let you know about that as soon as possible.

I’m very grateful to all of you who keep sending in your weekly donations, which we’re using to pay our hard-working staff and our utility bills. If you haven’t already done so, please consider making online donations to the parish to help us compensate for the considerable lack of Sunday collections.

Together–though six feet from each other–we’ll get through this. Nine months till Christmas!

In Christ,

Father Shelton

The Angelus

V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary.

V. And the Word was made flesh.
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray;

Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
