Saint Mary Parish will celebrate our 77th Anniversary with our annual Founders Day Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 22nd. This year our traditional BBQ picnic dinner will be provided by the Knights of Columbus (KOC) #3175. They will be preparing their delicious BBQ pork and chicken plus hot-dogs for the kids. RSVP required: PLEASE SIGN UP HERE TO RESERVE YOUR MEAL. Please respond by noon on Friday.
In addition, St. Mary’s Council of Catholic Women (CCW) will provide baked beans, coleslaw and brownies, with tea or lemonade available upon request. Ladies of the church who would like to help prepare side dishes (baked beans, coleslaw, and brownies) can sign up HERE.
Dinners will be available for pick-up from 5-7:30 p.m. at the drive-through in front of Columbus Hall. A volunteer will approach your car, take your order and then bring you your food. You can take your meal home to eat or you are welcome to picnic on the church grounds. Be sure to bring your blanket or chairs and be conscientious about practicing social distancing & wearing masks with those not in your family.
We look forward to having our parish participate in this special day & in this special way.
Founders Day is the Octave Day of the Assumption, our parish feast day. Bishop Adrian of Nashville established Saint Mary Parish as a parochial community of the Diocese of Nashville, with Father Joseph Siener as our first pastor, on August 22nd, 1943.
