St. Mary’s School, Oak Ridge, is seeking exceptional candidates for their art teacher position for the 2022-2023 academic year. The work of the art teacher is closely linked to the fulfillment of the mission and belief of St. Mary’s School. Teaching in a Catholic school is not just a job; it is a vocation. Our teachers are called to be professionally proficient in educational content and method. They must also be persons of faith and integrity who model dynamic Christian living to students by what they say, how they pray, how they treat students, parents, and colleagues, and the daily choices they make both in and out of the classroom. The position involves teaching art to students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade once a week. It is a part-time position (40%), consisting of 16-18 hours per week. Candidates should possess an elementary teaching degree or a degree in art, have a passion for art, and be able to help students grow in their love and appreciation for art. It is preferred that the candidate have some experience teaching, and have, or be able to obtain, a valid Tennessee teaching license.
