Admissions into Early Learning Programs

Age Requirement: It is required that Pre-K/four (4) year old applicants be four (4) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply. It is required that Kindergarten/five (5) year old applicants be four (5) years of age on or before August 15th of the school year in which they apply. (Diocese of Knoxville, POLICY AND PROCEDURES, 1030)

Purpose of the Early Learning Programs

 

  • To provide early childhood Catholic education in a Christ-centered environment.
  • To provide a foundation for entrance into St. Mary’s school curriculum program.

 

Pre-Admission Requirements

  •    Shadow Visit in the classroom, when possible – part day for rising PreK and full day for rising Kindergarten
  •    Interview (parents and children) with Principal or her designee
  •    Kindergarten Screening (for rising kindergarteners)

Documents Required for Admission Decision

  • Completed Online Application (St. Mary’s School)
  • Any other information deemed necessary for initial acceptance; this also includes diagnostic testing (academic, behavioral, psychological, and/or speech)

Documents Required for Enrollment:

  • Completion of Online Enrollment through Renweb
  • $125 Enrollment Fee
  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (if baptized)
  • Custodial Records (in case of divorce); court order
  • Financial Stewardship Form – either Catholic Parish Tuition Stewardship Form or Non-Catholic Tuition Form (mailed with acceptance letter)
  • Physical examination completed by a medical provider dated within 12 months (can be enrolled without this, but it must be received within 30 days of start of school)
  • Tennessee Certificate of Immunization (must be received before first day of school)
