Parish Fundraiser Policy

FUNDRAISING AND COMMERCE POLICY

 

A. The Parish Pastor reviews all fundraising and commercial activity requests.

B. Saint Mary’s School maintains its own fundraising policy.

C. All fundraising activities must meet relevant diocesan policies, as well as the requirements of civil law.

D. Catholic organizations defined as “Associations of the Faithful” by canon law (e.g. Knights of Columbus, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, etc.) should submit to the pastor a detailed description of any proposed fundraising activities intended to take place on parish grounds. Requests must be made a minimum of 60 days before the proposed activity begins.

E. Non-Catholic civic organizations possessing a non-profit status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code may, upon receiving written approval from the pastor, hold up to one fundraising event per annum. A limited number of such requests will be approved each year, with preference for those organizations whose missions best complement the mission of the parish. A member of said organization should submit to the pastor a detailed description of the proposed fundraising activity. Requests must be made a minimum of 90 days before the proposed activity begins.

F. Private individuals and for-profit companies may request special permission to conduct point-of-sale commerce on parish grounds. Requests must be made a minimum of 90 days before the proposed commercial activity begins.
