|Students grades PK-5, enrolled in the 2021-2022 Parish Religious Education Program, will meet in person this year for their continued formation of our beautiful Catholic Faith. All students will gather on Sundays from 11:45am-1:45pm in the Family Life Center. We will begin and end together for prayer. Students must be signed in and out by a parent or legal guardian. Classes will be held in SMS and Columbus Hall. This includes 2nd Grade Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation & 1st Holy Communion as well as 5th Grade Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation.
Grades PK-5 (with the exception of 2nd) will continue the “Gospel Weeklies” by Pflaum Publishing. This curriculum connects Church teaching using the lesson from the Sunday readings and connection to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We will cover the readings for the following Sunday to better prepare the children for their next Mass.
2nd Grade curriculum, “Signs of Grace” from the Augustine Institute, is the Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
5th Grade Confirmation curriculum “Confirmed in the Spirit” by Pflaum Publishing, is eight sessions that will take place throughout the year, in addition to their ongoing faith formation.
Parents of students preparing for Sacraments will attend scheduled parent sessions throughout the year. There will be more detailed information available at registration.
Registration weekends will be following all Masses in the Social Hall on:
Saturday, August 14th @ 6:30pm and Sunday, August 15th @ 9am, 11:30am, 3pm, and 7pm
Saturday, August 21st @ 6:30pm and Sunday, August @ 22nd 9am, 11:30am, 3pm, and 7pm
Families will have a packet containing the following:
2nd and 5th grade parents, if your child was not baptized at St. Mary Church, and you do not have a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate, now would be a good time to send for it.
